Ranch Rules
General camping rules at the Ranch. These are for the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of the park for all campers.
Fire Safety Notice: Burn Ban in Effect
Please note that a burn ban is currently in effect per the Hernando County Fire Department.
Violations may result in an $850 fine per citation and possible jail time
Please help us keep the ranch safe for everyone.
Prohibited
- Lump coal
- Wood fires
- Ground fires of any kind
Allowed Cooking Methods
- Charcoal or propane cooking only
- Charcoal grills must be elevated at least 8 inches off the ground
- Propane fire pits are permitted if:
- They are at least 8 inches off the ground
- They are supervised at all times
Violation of these rules may result in your removal from the park with no refund
- Dispose of garbage in barrels. Wire baskets are for aluminum cans only. No waste or trash should be left in the fire ring.
- Leave the campsite clean of garbage, including cigarette butts, bottle caps, and micro trash.
- Report any damage to the Ranch manager immediately, especially broken water pipes or electrical problems.
- Fire rings and picnic tables can be moved from unoccupied campsites.
- Pets are allowed but must be leashed at all times and are not allowed to roam free. Retractable leashes are prohibited. All pets must be kept on a fixed-length leash that does not exceed six (6) feet in length. Pets are not permitted in the kitchen, under pavilions, or in restrooms. You are required to clean up after your pet. A pet that is noisy, disturbing, intimidating, or dangerous to other people and pets, or damages Ranch resources, will not be allowed to stay at the Ranch.
- Bicycles are not permitted in the pavilion areas and must be off the road by dark. Children under the age of 16 must wear a helmet as detailed in Florida statute 316.2065(3)(d).
- Motor-assisted bicycles are allowed, class 1 and 2 E-bikes only. Battery or gas-powered dirt bikes, skateboards, and mono wheels are strictly prohibited.
- Gas and battery-powered golf carts are permitted only when operated by a licensed and insured driver. Headlights are required between dusk and dawn. ATVs are forbidden.
- All approved vehicles must be operated properly and adhere to the posted 5 mph speed limit and respect the safety and quiet enjoyment of other campers.
- No drones in the park.
- No illegal drugs in the park.
- No nitrous oxide.
- No fireworks, firearms, or weapons in the park.
- No smoking or vaping in any pavilion or posted areas. Dispose of cigarette butts properly.
- To maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment, large or prominent political flags, banners, or signage related to a political affiliation are restricted.
- Do not deface, damage, or cut trees or brush. NO NAILS IN TREES!
- Parents are to supervise their children at all times. Anyone who is under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult for overnight camping.
- Be considerate of your neighbors regarding sound. If you are disturbing everyone around you, you will be asked to quiet down as a warning. Second warning, and you will be asked to leave the premises. NO AMPLIFIED MUSIC AT CAMPSITES.
- All campers will be held responsible for any damage done to the premises.
- Quiet generators are allowed only in specific areas, at the complete discretion of the Ranch manager, between the hours of 10 am and 8 pm.
